Handset Provisioning

Select the Extension you have just created.  This can be found under Features - Extensions.Extensions.

You can use our provisioning server or program the necessary details into the handset or softphone to provision the hardware you will use. If we provide the handset, our servers can auto-provision it. To do this, you only need to enter the handset's MAC address of the handset into the field marked as the MAC address and then start/reboot the handset. If you already entered the MAC address in the Add user wizard,wizard, you can ignore this section. 

Manually Provisioning a handset.

If thewe hardware wasdid not providedprovide bythe us,hardware, you must manually enter the ‘SIP settings’ manually.. Normally, this can be done using the telephone’s web interface, which can be accessed using the IP address. If you ever reset/default a phone, you will need to enter our provisioning string. 

This is normally:  http://provision.sip2sip.net

When entering the details manually, you will need the following information:

The username, which is the Extension number in this example, is 250351000, plus the password for the extension account. This can be found under the user settings.

You will also need to point the handset to the registration servers.servers, Thiswhich isare hosted at hosted.sip2sip.net.net. You may also wish to set the voicemail code to *1, which will beis required to access the voicemail.
