Pickup Groups

Pickup groups can be found in the menu under Features - Pickup Groups.

Pickup Groups are used for taking calls from another ringing telephone Extension. Perfect for an office where people need to answer each other's phones. Our recommendation is to create pickup groups within the same area. We do not recommend creating one group for the whole office, if people are in different offices or even different floors. This is because the system will allocate the longest ringing telephone and this might be on a different floor, rather than the one you were trying to pick up across the office.

Pickup Group Settings


Name
Give the Pickup Group an appropriate name.
Description
Give the Pickup Group a description if you need more details.
Contains Extensions
Select the Extensions from the right-hand box and click add. You can highlight groups of Extensions and move them all together to the left box. Once you have added the desired Extension, select save.

To Use the Feature
Press ** (Standard Feature Code) to answer the call. You will receive the error ‘User busy’ if there is no call (answered by someone else) or you are not in the same group.
