Page Groups
Page groups can be found under Features - Page Groups.
To page extensions and make their speakers go off the hook, you need to set up a Page Group. Go to Page Groups and select ‘New’.
Page Group Settings
Name
Give it an appropriate name like ‘page whole office’.
Description
Give the paging group a description if you need more details.
Owner
You can allocate this paging group to a person (owner) within the system if you want them to administer it as well as the administrator.
Request Telephones to Auto-Answer
Select yes, as you need the handsets to auto-answer to go off-hook. If you select no then the telephones will just ring and not page.
Play Beep to Caller
Select ‘Yes’ and the system will play a tone at the beginning of the page so people are aware that a page announcement is coming next. If ‘No’ is selected then the voice will be the only thing heard.
Allow Destinations to Talk
This is OK if there is a small number of phones being paged that are fairly spread out. Keep in mind, that if this is set to ‘Yes’, then everyone can talk and everyone can hear what the others are saying. Please use with caution.
Allow Destinations to Forward Calls
We recommend that this is set and left to ‘No’. As this would mean that the paging call could be forwarded to another telephone handset and the page would be heard there, or the telephone could be forwarded off to a mobile which means the page would add the call when someone answers.
Record Group
If you have already set up a Record Group, then you can select a group to record the page calls.
Show in Reception Console
This will allow the Page Group to be seen in the Reception Console that is under the option at the top of the systems menu.
Call Rec Bundle
If you have a call recording bundle set up and this number has been allocated to the group, it will show here
