Handset Provisioning

Select the Telephone line you have just created.  This can be found under Features - Telephone Lines.

You can use our provisioning server or program the necessary details into the handset or softphone to provision the hardware you will use. If we provide the handset, our servers can auto-provision it. To do this, you only need to enter the MAC address of the handset into the field marked as the MAC address and then start/reboot the handset. If already entered in the Add user wizard, you can ignore this section.

Manually Provisioning a handset

If the hardware was not provided by us, you must enter the ‘SIP settings’ manually. Normally, this can be done using the telephone’s web interface, accessed using the IP address. If you ever reset/default a phone, you will need to enter our provisioning string.

This is normally:  http://provision.sip2sip.net

When entering the details manually, you will need the following information:

The username, which is the telephone line number in this example, is 250351000, plus the password for the telephone line account. This can be found under the user settings.

You will also need to point the handset to the registration servers. This is hosted.sip2sip.net. You may also wish to set the voicemail code to *1, as this will be required to access the voicemail.
